Don't worry about it. God knows a lot of us here have run out of rope a long time ago.

I found this website after googling for pelvic PTs in Vancouver: https://thecheerfulpelvis.com. She seems promising.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy

It's good that they offer treatment to men as well as women - I think men often feel rather left out of sites like these, which at first glance may seem to be female-oriented. However, while the physiology may be different, the problems of pain are the same, and gender is not a relevant factor.

Too true dmcff - I feel rather sorry for the men as I think it must be even harder to find help. The pelvic floor therapist I am due to see today equally helps men and women which is great. Don't know if it will help me of course but still.

hurtinend - Don't worry it is awful being in constant pain and you must be at your wits end. I'm really sorry I can't be of any more use or make any better suggestions.

Yes thank you. There are several pelvic floor physios in Vancouver who treat men. The one you mentioned seems to be the best. Vancouver is a very holistic aware city. I don't like the fact that these specialists charge $120 dollars a session but I'm going to try it.

One thing I know...drugs are not the answer, 15 mg of morphine doesn't even manage my pain anymore.

No, you've been down that route and it hasn't worked. I heard a radio programme yesterday about abuse of pain killers and it's becoming a real problem in the UK and it often jusr causes another problem ie addiction and you get tolerant of the dosage etc. It seems like the pain messages have gone out of control and a holistic approach sounds sensible. The money we spend on these things is crazy, I just spent £80 on pelvic floor therapy myself.

Keep us posted.

I still find pregabalin highly effective for controlling the pain, when NSAIDs and opioids, including morphine, have failed. But everyone is different, and it's hard to find something that works in one's own individual case.

well it's true... You have serious pain, you would figure a strong opioid would solve the issue while the body heals. Not the case. I gave read that long term use can cause your body to be even more sensitive to pain. I fear that's the case with me.

I can feel intense tender areas up my rectum, I never have any blood.

So which one: pregabalin or gabapentin

I have similar symptoms - no blood and intense sensitivity. While pregabalin certainly doesn't remove the pain altogether for me, it does control it, keeping it manageable.

Have you tried nerve blocks?

I've had 2 now, both epic fails, unbelievable.

I see my doctor Monday.

No, I haven't tried them. Really I'm just trying to get along without much medical intervention now - it's uncomfortable, but I can manage.

Hope your doctor's appointment yields some positive results.
