Coconut Oil Rocks

Postby KTH100 » 21 Apr 2019, 20:28

I posted this before but for some reason it got lost in cyberspace.

I’ve been using coconut oil for a few weeks on the fissure and have no discomfort at all now. I think I’ve sent Freddy Krueger packing and hope not to see a return of him any time soon.

Not one to tempt fate, I’m going to continue using the coconut oil FOREVER.

Bye bye anal fissure.

:lol:

Kth do you apply it internally or just on the outside? There are people here who asked this question on more than one occasion and I think it wil help anyone to read as many opinions on this subject, especially from the ones which managed to heal the fissure.

Hi ABu;

I take a nice dollop on my finger (it’s the consistency of coco butter) and apply it inside and out. I pop it in there and rub on the outside. It melts on skin contact. I apply it in the morning after a shower and at night before I go to bed (and after a bowel movement should one occur mid-day.) With those applications you stay nice and oiled. :)

The brand I use is called Alpha DME virgin coconut oil, purchased at the health food store.

For sure it can’t hurt, and any little bit helps.

I wonder if the relative usefulness of various lotions and potions has to do with the severity and type of fissure.

Mine in an anterior fissure rather than a posterior one. Apparently 90% of people get posterior fissures where 10%--mostly women-- get anterior fissures.

It’s not fully healed, but for the most part I can go without any pain or discomfort. In addition to veggies, I find that bran muffins are great for softening things up on the way out too. One bran muffin a day works for me.
