scheduled for 4th surgery for 7 year old fissure

Postby Deleted User 4536 » 11 May 2019, 18:41

i am losing my mind here. i had LIS back in october but it seems to have failed. my stool is consistently soft but that makes no difference towards the pain.

my crs thinks the LIS failed because he did a conservative cut. now i'm scheduled for a fourth surgery (my third surgery in under a year)

crs said if it's healing they are going to do botox, but if it's still deep, it will be LIS instead

seems like a never ending nightmare.

has anyone had a failed 1st LIS but managed to heal with a second LIS? i don't really want to do botox for the 3rd time. i don't think botox is good enough for my chronic fissure.

There have been some folks on here who have had a second LIS, and it was successful. Can you get a second CRS opinion to find out if there are any underlying problems that are delaying your healing?
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy

I hope they can figure out the issue. You could consider asking for manometry so they can check if a second LIS will help.
