Hi apple- I have been taking it at end of day. For me this produces an after breakfast bm next morning which I like gets it done before I leave house. I’m finding prune juice with the miralax stops hard tips at the moment - long may that last!!

Hey appleapple! Actually I inadvertently discovered that taking 1 cap around 5-6pm has worked best so far. I forgot a couple of times and took it around 11pm, only to get a harder BM in the morning. As long as I remember it and stay consistent, it works great. Hopefully when this thing heals, I can try to wean off and find others ways to avoid the hard tip.

SueMac I also carry around a small tube in my bag! I have a mini kit of stuff I take with me now juuuust in case.

That's great berzerker. I find this is quite an expensive method of you get through a lot of it. But actually if it works then it's worth it!!

Hi thanks

Day 2 and again everything is softer than soft serve ice cream. My father told me to use milk of magnesia and I was like what the heck I always followed his advice let me do it again.

Today the fissure was biting and itching, this is a sign it is healing up. However I felt like might have had a bowel movement tonight but I ended up holding it in, hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the morning.

However will be using the 3 table spoon of magnesia tonight again so it should prevent any chance of constipation from holding this thing in.

Why do people talk about caps of miralax/movicol. Doesn’t it come in sachets or powder?

My movicol is sachet of powder but milk of magnesia is usually liquid.

Sue its been 10 days now on Milk of Magnesia and Nitro cream combined, this morning was the first time my life has been so great.

I had no fcking clue Milk of Magnesia was so effective for fissures, it was never something mentioned to me before, it was an idea my father just put forward to me.

I still can't believe 8 months of bleeding and tearing every morning might finally be coming to an end. :D

Is it possible can this be real or is it a dream.......

Its defenitely been a hard 2 weeks for me because my job involves lifting lots of 110 pound bags of sugar and offloading huge trucks which puts a strain on my fissure but my butt is losening up before it would be so hard to put the qtips with the nitro cream inside but this morning it went in easily.

Yesterday there was this painful twist inside my anus, that felt like a stiff neck that is cracked? something similar I am not sure if it was my anus is somehow readjusting itself back to low pressure. Whatever it was seems to have been miraculous I really hope this keeps up.

Do you think Sentinel piles go away on their own?

Berserker- that’s such good news. I think you’ve found the right combo which I think is different for everyone. I’m hoping now you will keep healing every day and find a resolution. As for the sentinel piles I don’t know but maybe ask others as a new post on this forum or search got old posts on the subject. Or maybe your gp can help?
Keep up the good work I’m really pleased for you !!
