So my question is: do sentinel piles cause pain?
Now that the second fissure is healaing, the sentinel pile (if that’s what it is) is almost gone. Does that make sense? My doc is an idiot and knows nothing.

I also mentioned a 'painful small hard lump' that had recently appeared. The doctor said it was a sentinel pile and that they don't tend to remove them unless they cause problems. I said it is extremely painful, he then said that with our own fingers it's hard to pin point pain. He then touched me in two places, one hurt (the fissure) one didn't (the pile). He said as sentinel piles are often located at the tip of a fissure it's easy to confuse the source of pain...
Sometimes when I apply a cream, I feel pain everywhere?
