Niphedipine withdrawal?

Postby BarrieCov » 31 May 2020, 13:24

Hi everyone. Hope you're doing well during these crazy times.

I've been suffering from an AF for more than a year now, with healing and re-tearing along the way.

I have been using niphedipine with lidocaine during this entire time and recently, stopped using it. I had talked to my doctor about using it for this period of time and they didn't know if this was problematic or not (that reply seemed problematic in and of itself!). I continued on the medication topically, since it seemed to be helping to heal my fissure.

I stopped the medication recently, as I'm feeling a bit better and I was concerned about using the drug for a long period of time, given that nobody had good advice about it.

Since then (it's been a few weeks), I've been having bouts of dizziness and feeling like I'm swaying on an off during the day.

Does anybody have experience with this sort of situation? I would appreciate any input!

It's possible that your body has gotten used to getting a daily dose of blood pressure reducing medication, and is now trying to adjust. I suggest getting in touch with your doctor about this, because maybe you need to slowly stop using it instead of abruptly.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy

Thanks - that seems like a good idea.
