Hi all , I had LIS last July 15, It's a rough recovery for me. Could anybody give me an advice because I still have pain and occasional slight blood in stool. I am a bit worried that i might not be healing the LIS site and the Fissure

You apparently had a more serious situation as you haven't fully recovered but as you just said "the wound is healing nicely" so I don't know what advice we could possibly give you other than the advice of sit back and wait for it to heal? You just saw your doctor on the 12th and you want advice from strangers who are not doctors online? My fissure was completely gone when I saw my doctor 3 weeks post op. But each of us recover differently so no one can tell you what will happen to you.

Yeah because the doctor does not have the same experience as we had. I have no more fissure issue actually no pain in the area totally gone? i dont know. what i am dealing is that LIS area in my left side it is still stinging and sore. You had a real quick recovery my operation is traditional OPEN LIS , I don't know why it taking so long to heal I am now 5 weeks post OP. Again no more fissure issue no more pain in the midline anterior my prob now is my left LIS , it is still painful during or after BM sucks :(

Hang in there Ken. Tell yourself it takes months to heal not days or wks allow time my friend. Try to relax and also positive self talk tell yourself daily that the operation has worked perfectly. I believe in manifesting our minds are powerful.

Gosh its the sharp pain while on the toilet that is just the most horrible type of pain ever. And you must be happy to not have that pain anymore. I have pain during and after till i clean off then sorness during the hours after and some random stabbing pain sometimes randomly. So if you have less then this then the lis is working and your in a better position now then before. At least your on the road to being healed I'm still stuck in the dam cycle. Hope that makes you feel better about not being 100% you made the right choice. I'm going to pay to see a specialist its expensive but would be worth it to get a professionals advise not a free general surgeons advice for once.
