Barrier Cream

Postby sam1989 » 15 Dec 2021, 19:48

Hello All. Was wondering if any of you have some advice on a good barrier cream? I have used Vaseline in the past but it seems to cause a lot of friction. I have an anal fissure on the top of my rectum. It’s in a weird spot near an old skin tag from a previous/old hemorrhoid. Any advice would be much appreciated. It’s so painful…..

I use Vmagic (men can use it too), and found it very helpful. It's not as persistent of a barrier as Vaseline so you'll have to reapply as needed. Another option is coconut oil. Take care, and please seek medical attention before trying home remedies for it.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy

My pelvic pain therapist recommended a lubricant called pur you can use internally if needed. I find it helps and doesn’t cause any side effects. You can get it on Amazon.

I believe I have three anal fissures. I have anal fissures at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock on my anus, but my main anal fissure is about three inches above my anus between my butt cheeks (at the very top of my butt cheeks by my lower back).
When you say that your anal fissure is on the top of your rectum, do you mean that your anal fissure is above your anus?
