Incontinence to gas after LIS 8 weeks ago, will it go away?

Postby fissure_childbirth » 22 May 2023, 12:04

Hi all,

been reading a lot here. Had a fissure during childbirth in 2010, healed and then reopened in 2020. Has ever since healed and the opened up several times. 11 times botox. I now did the LIS (4 mm was cut) 8 weeks ago. I notice I can not always keep gas from coming out. Panic! Is this normal and will it be transient? How long will it take for it to stabilize then? Those of you with experience, please guide me. Also, how much was cut in your LIS? I think 4 mm is not much and should be safe, right?

I don't see how this will change (sorry) but I am not a doctor. Give your doctor a call. I have no idea how much was cut for mine. It is 95% successful so those are pretty good odds.
Fissure June 2014 - Oct 2020
Botox, skin tag removed - Feb 2015
Levator Ani Sep 2014 - Feb 2016 (left job, cured!)
LIS, skin tags removed - Oct 2020
Fissure 100% healed - Nov 2020
Still healed as of March 2024
