Heads up

Hello,

Although I had to register I am not new to this forum. For some reason I couldn't log in with my previous nickname and couldn't reset my password neither.

Just to give you a heads up - I feel better, my fissure pain has substantially subsided. I am not sure what am I doing right (if anything) but my situation is much better to what it was. I still have some pain and itching after the hard stool but it is not comparable to that acute phase I've gone through.

I did adopted certain practices and included food supplements so I thought I share it with you. Maybe it helps someone?

Before proceeding I want to emphasize that I am NOT a medical professional! Things that work for me, will not necessarily work for you and can even be harmful. In addition, my situation is somewhat unique. Ever since I known myself I had digestive issues, I was on probably 15+ gastroscopies in my life, at one moment was even suspected to have a pancreatic cancer. Thank God it was false alarm!

I have long standing erosions in my stomach, the thing people call "change of bowel movement pattern" is basically my life routine. I didn't have normal bowel movements for 3 days in a row since I was 16.

OK, take this with a grain of salt - I have started taking probiotics that contain particular bacteria strain called: "Akkermansia muciniphila". It is mixed with another strain called: "Faecalibacterium prausnitzii". I was recommended this combination by an acquaintance after I described my symptoms and they seem to match those of his. So he shared it with me.

Akkermansia muciniphila is known to produce mucose in colon that serves as a barrier for gut lining. However, because this bacteria cannot survive in an environment without oxygen you have to give it a "food" and it is usually apple pectin. Anyway, if anyone's is interested you can read about it.

In addition to that food supplement I have adopted a regular practice of 20-minutes daily exposure to sun. I noticed that it help my sleep routine, I fall asleep quicker, deeper, which in turn gives me more energy throughout the next day and don't have that "brain fog". I am taking a sun light without a shirt on and with short panties so that as much of my body is exposed.

That's my story shared... Thank you for reading. Please note again - I just wanted to share my routine and am not suggesting that anyone should follow my routine.
