I would see both people. It took me 4 tries to find a good CRS. The first 3 were horrible. And that is just CRS. I wdon't want to even count the 33 of other drs I saw for this problem.

Well, I found a website with reviews for this specific (general) surgeon, and there were about 25 reviews, all of which were EXTREMELY, extremely positive. I was pretty impressed. And I have nothing to lose... The website of the surgical office he worked at really impressed me too. I've got an appointment this coming Monday, so I might as well go. If it doesn't work out and he doesn't offer the treatments I'm looking for, I'll schedule an appointment with one of the colorectal surgeons further away. I called the office of the one closest to us (but still pretty far away, unfortunately), and they do accept our insurance. They also said they have openings in June. And if THAT doesn't work, I'll wait until July for the original colorectal surgeon I was hoping to see.
Phew.
I am reeeeally hoping the surgeon on Monday will be able to help!

I just thought that since they work in the same office that might be the problem with scheduling, but hey - why not try !!! That is actually very good idea Chris - see both doctors to get second opinion which is good to have anyway !!! Most of us went "through" bunch of doctors until we found one that knew something - I still do cross referral since I had such bad experience with them and it still is a life saver !!! Even though both of CRSs that I was seeing last time is a good CRS in it's own way ....oh god, why all has to be so complicated Image
PS: I just saw you posted at the same time LOL - OK - great plan !!! Go Monday and I wish you the best of luck Image Keep us posted !!! Image

Thank you!!! <3 My family thinks I'm being a drama queen. In their minds, fissures are no more serious than a paper cut on your finger. It's too bad so many doctors think the same thing.

You are welcome, dear Passion- I am so glad you found us because nobody can understand the pain and how it effects all aspects of our lives but us who have to deal with it. So many times I got inconsiderate comments from friends I alway got the urge to wish them getting one, but than I would remind myself that I don't want to be same as they are and I wish them health. You are definitely not a drama queen - you are actually very strong person that went through all of this excruciating pain without any help or anybody's support : ( !!! I really, really hope that you will find relief soon Image

i get angry when i see these gastro.doctors "throwing in the towel" so to say, licodine?? isnt that for numbing?? why woulndt they have givin her nitro cream? or at least a free packet of metamucil or something...i cussed my gastro dr for months for giving me creams that didnt seem to work, but in the end he knew what he was doing,he says he'll "be damned" if it doesnt heal with the nitro cream,it did eventually..then he was all like "told you so" ,bit of a clown..but seemed to know his stuff, the dr you went to sounds like he [or she] didnt even hardly try, does that bother anyone else,or is it just me?? Yeah, I picked up on that too. It is very frustrating and you are not alone.

I would try to see a CRS that is associated with a medical school even if you have to drive to do it. They seem to be the ones more invested in trying to find a solution. You are not being a drama queen. Like the doctor I saw this week said that benign anal condition cause a lot of suffering and agony for patients. Feel free to rant and rave here. We won't turn away from it.
