Juney,
Great to hear the test went well and good results. Best wishes for healing to finish! My bleeding doesn't seem to stop either, so I must be a slow healer.
Jen,
Your little guy is just beautiful. Love his smile and hairdo! What a cutie. Glad you are doing well. Are you taking the summer off? You are a nursing student, right?
Have a great 4th!

Jo -
Glad you checked in! I was wondering where you went! How have you been feeling? It looks like your doing well enough to travel! Thats awsome!!!
I don't have the summer off from school :(!! My RN program has no breaks, with the exception or a week off between semesters. I have a week off the end of July finally and I am planning at trip for that time! I am so excited!
Have a happy 4th Jo & don't be a stranger! :)

Jen,
It is great that you are in nursing and as you learn, can share medical knowledge with non-medical people such as myself.

I still have alot to learn! I actually would love to work with a GI doc or colorectal doc when I graduate. However, I don't think they have alot of RN's in those clinics. I think they hire techs and LPN's so they don't have to pay as much. I think the RN's are more at the hospital level. :( Maybe I will get lucky in the job market!

Jen,
How many more years do you have to study? I know my local CRS has an LPN or even a CNA, I think. All I have ever seen her do is ask me questions and hold the sheet for privacy when I am up on the table which really makes no sense to me since the three of us are the only ones in the room??????? How much longer do you think you will have to use the nitro? Right now I am trying to take more Metamucil and less Miralax which has been very difficult for me to regulate lately (the Miralax).

I graduate in 11 months - finally! :)
I plan on staying on the nitro until I use it up - another 5 weeks. That will be a total of about 4 1/2 months for me. After that, I plan on using my nifedipine for 1 month, just because I still have some left. The docotr says I am free to get off my meds, but he says I can stay on them if I still feel the need to.
Your right, it is hard to regulate the fiber. I take fiber Choice. They are chewable fiber tablets and taste great. I take two a day at dinner time. They seem to work for me.

Jen,
You are almost done. At least you can see the end in site. I think non-traditional students such as yourself are more focused. My son used to teach biochem to a lot of nursing students at our local community college. I think you take Miralax also, right??

Cheryl -
Nope, I don't take miralax. Is that a stool softener. I only take 2 fiber choice chewables a day and 2 spoonfulls of flax seed in the am with my cereal. I do take MOM and stool softeners occasionally - like one or twice a month. I only take those if I eat something totally bad for me and I am scared that I will have a hard BM. Usually, I eat really healthy - I have never been a fan of junk food. My son even eats healthy - we call him our liitle vegan because he will not touch meat. he only eats carbs and veggies, and of corse sweets. I try to offer meat everynight, but he wants nothing to do with it. I get worried about him not getting any protein sometimes.
