Hi my dearest buddies Image !!!
I had my exam around 2 pm and than went walking on fresh air trying to relax and that went to the gym , walked another hour or so and hoped all the time that exam will not make me hurt again, but it did. My girl CRS did DAE and was able to look at the fissure again without using anoscope. Good news are that my fissure is closed (which I suspected as I wrote about it a day ago) but my skin tags are still enlarged and irritated and especially now after she had to pull on them to expose the fissure site :( Image Image. So although I know that my pain now is result of exam and that it originates in my tags , it is never the less unnerving Image. She also checked my lavator ani muscle and there was no pain there, so I definitely don't have problem there. The exam of that muscle is done trans-rectaly with finger - if anybody wonders how it is done. She is very good with anatomy and understanding of other pelvic disorders so I asked her about endometriosis as a possible underlaying cause. She said that it is not likely since part of the sphincter that is effected with spasms and fissure is just too low down for endometrial tissue to attach there and showed me on the poster where endom. effects colon if it is preset.
So, even though I got a lot of insight and good news regarding fissure - I still have a pain that I have somehow to resolve Image She gave me Analpro (sp.???) and told me to use it only in dire need for tags and told me to stay on Colace as long as I want since it is absolutely safe and just emollient and even pregnant women use it . She said the hormones definitely have effect on bowl movements and that many of her patients have same problem as me.
I will still go on my app. on 28th, since every CRS so far gave me some extra input and knew something new and I also hope that that guy will do a manometry for me. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, today she again commented that my sphincter is very strong, and prescribed refill for Nifed. .
My quest for pain free butt continues :$($$!:
Thank you all buddies for thinking of me today - love you all so much :sprinkleheart: Image :sprinkleheart:

Fissy -
Thanks for writing and letting us know about your appointment. I was thinking of you today! Image
Do you think there is any possibility that your tags are causing the fissure to reopen? I mean - if the fissure is so close to the tags, you never know. Did she even mention anything about possibly removing them?
My doc says that colace is really safe. Pregnant women can use it because it does not even leave the colon. I was confused about this because it is a Pregnancy catagory C drug (unsafe for fetus), but ever doctor I have talked to says it is 100% fine to take long term & during pregnancy.
I think it is a good idea to go to that other guy. He sounds like a really busy man - having you wait this long for an appointment.
I really do wish the best for you Fissy! Hopefully this is the end of it all! :redlove:

Hi Jen Image !
Yeah, I was always trying to suggest that my skin tags could be the culprit of it all, but only SF CRS agreed to remove them because I insisted ( you might remember I almost had that done before this CRS discovered that I actually had opened part of my fissure again, so I decided to postpone it). All of the CRS I ever saw tried to talk me out of it actually Image because it can be
risky as any other surgical procedure - I mean, pulling out the tooth can be as risky but people still do it every day Image . I will see what new CRS suggests doing and of course, I will see if tags would calm down eventually.
I have to be careful not to re injure the area to give them chance to shrink, but if they continue to bother me they will be snipped , that is for sure Image.
I obviously heal pretty fast now - both "new" fissures healed in 2 weeks, so healing part would not be the problem- I guess Image . You would not believe what I tried tonight - I put some yogurt on my butt since I read so many times about it and it calmed down substantially Image . But I think that cold "something" had major effect maybe, maybe ice-cream would do even better Image. My poor, poor tags :( - just as they calmed down :( Image - but again - I just had to know what is going on with the fissure  !!!
Anyway, enough of my rumbling Image .
Thanks for thinking about me Image Hope you are still doing great Image Image !!!!!

thats great news that the fissure is closed and no sign of levator ani :D but I'm sorry you're in pain from the exam and haven't really got any definate answer to it all :( . Roll on the 28th for your other appointment!

Have you tried ice cubes? I wrap one in a sandwich bag and apply it, it takes the pain down quite a lot! Much less messy than ice cream!!!

Fiss,
I have been sore b/4, and I know it is a pain in the butt (literally), but we all know that it will subside after the irritation calms down. Here's to your feeling better soon,
Cheryl
