What kind of pain

Postby lars » 19 Jul 2008, 15:09

Hi everyone
Just wanted to know what type of fissure pain people here on the forum have.
I almost always have a BM in the morning. I walk from my bed to the toilette when I wake up and have I done. My body is so relaxed after a night`s sleeps so it goes out very easy.
It usally burns a little but the real discomfort/pain starts after. It can come hours later or right away.
I have either burning/soreness/dull ache or itching. If I am really lucky I have multiple symptomes(both burning and dull ache for example)
If a second BM is needed for the day it is usally a lot thiner and more difficult to get out. It looks like a wiener sausage and it feels very big, but in fact it isn`t at all.....
So what type of pain/discomfort do others experience?

My pain was not during the BM, but later. Like you said, it could come soon, but usually took about 90 minutes to start. It was a clenching pain, but sometimes it was a burning pain, that was the worst.
Sounds like your pattern was like mine, somewhat.
If I skipped the BM, no spasms. Of course, I learned quickly not to do that!!

My pain used to be random. It used to feel like someone was sticking a knife up my bum! A really horrible sharp pain. Once the fissure was really open, it just felt like I had a huge paper cut and every time I went to the bathroom it was getting scraped. I'm so glad I got the surgery. So much better now.

My pain was always about 90% during a BM. The other 10% was after a BM or at completely random times.

before the LIS I had extreme pain during bm then the spasms would start about an hour later and last for hours and they were agony.

Now I have really bad sharp pain during bm, then it feels swollen and achey and painful for hours until early evening, then of course it all starts over the next day!!

I too have the same patten. First BM I feel like a football is coming out. Usually there is some irritation after that. Few hours later I feel the muscles getting tighter and tighter and then just as if someone pressed a button a pain begins that lasts for 7 - 8 hrs.
If I have real trouble in my first BM I end up getting another one as well and this one is the real culprit for the throbbing pain. It feels like a wound and a knife is constantly churned into the wound. This week for the first time the pain has been for 3 days with no relief. Sometimes I get random spasms with the already existing pain and makes me startle. Phew
