LIS=lateral internal sphincterectomy
CRS=colorectal surgeon
Don't feel bad about not knowing the terms. When I first started here I didn't know what was meant when I read AF!!

Ya it took me some reading up in these forums for me to find out what those terms were.If your fissure is giving you some pain you can apply lidocaine,dibucaine,(over the counter nupercainal)to numb it up along with a couple of tylenol,great to use before a bm.Does your fissure spasm or have a tight feeling of your sphincter?If it doesn't you may have a chance of healing it without medical intervention as long as you take a couple of sitz bath a day and keeping your stool really soft.

Yes, I am using Tylenol and that is helping me to reduce the pain. My pain starts 30 minutes after BM and stay until the afternoon and then its better. And yes, my fissure spasm and thats what is making it not to heal. you are right..
Let me wait for another couple of day and if no improvement then I will go and see CRS. Need to find one in my area..

It takes weeks to notice if the fissure is healing/improving.It took me 8 weeks to heal with the use of nitro and 2 weeks just to notice it was working.Just give yourself a couple of weeks to see if it improves and if none then go ahead and make the appointment.Take care.

I am trying a home remedy and it is working. I will confirm in 2-3 day..
1/2 spoon of turmeric power and 1/2 spoon of clarified butter, make it in to paste and apply at the affected area..
Its been one day since it am doing this and I have not had to take a pain killer today..
Turmeric has several medicinal values (anti inflammatory and anti bacterial)...

This formula is working. There is no pain for past 2 days and clearly my AF is healing. This is what I am doing
1) 1/2 spoon of tumeric powder and 1/2 spoon of clarified butter. Make it in to a paste. Apply it in the affected area. I do this four times a day (after BM, after Lunch, in the evening and once before going to bed). I immediately started feeling better after my first application.
2) Miralax : 17g of Miralax in a big glass of water during bed time. A very very very good product. Keeps the stool very soft so the AF does not get aggrivated after BM and so helps in the healing process
3) No meat. High fiber diet. Brown rice and vegetables
4) I apply Vaceline Pertroleum jelly in the anal area before BM. This provide good lubrication and prevents the stool from distrubing the AF.
5) Drinking Carrot and Beet Juice. It might indirectly help in the healing process. But I dont think it is necessary.
Thanks to all for their advice. I will intend to continue this procedure for another 4 days.
I will write another update after 3 -4 days and if I heal by then.
Also, I tried Amoils; It didn't work.
Regards,
Pred
