Does itching mean healing?

Postby mjfarrell5959 » 01 Jun 2010, 16:18

I sure hope so because the itching is unbearable. Last Wednesday before I went to see a CRS I had three days of horrible pain and horror movie blood when taking a BM. Now, six days later I get a little blood only if it's my second BM of the day but horrible, horrible itching after each BM and right before bedtime. I know I'm not supposed to itch, but it's almost impossible and when I do I draw blood.
Am I healing and entering a new stage of hell? This AF (I actually have two, a big and little) is obviously consuming my life which is why I post here so often. Is anyone else in the throws of this misery or are you all healed or simply used to this?

Been there...
Canґt say but I feel the freaking itching when the fissure starts... and in the middle of treatment sometimes.
Check if any medicine your taking doesnt cause dermatites.

There *is*, apparently, a healing itch associated with fissures. If it occurs while things are improving, then *maybe*....
I only had the irresistibly horrible itch when I was actually healing, after surgery. I learned very quickly it was one itch you don't scratch....
If you are actually healing then you are NOT entering a new Hell...the itch will go away gradually, it shouldn't last long.
If, however, it persists even though your fissure symptoms are not improving, you should definitely have it checked out, it could be fungal (?). Using a little tinactin at the site couldn't hurt.

I agree with Kim !!!
It can be "healing itch" but some people have itching associated with fissures actually being present Image
Surely hope your truly is the "healing" one !!!! Image

Resisting that itch is very difficult IMO, however, after scratching my anus into oblivion a while back I found that putting the shower head as close as possible to my anus and turning it on was like a massive relief (almost orgasmic lol), to this day i'm really not sure whether it was the Diltiazem causing the itch or whether I was healing, either way I feel pretty much ok at the moment, but as everyone is aware these fissures can fire up at any moment so that's why i'm still gonna go ahead with any treatment offered (hopefully LIS :) )

I hope so!

I've been doing all I can for the last week to finally try and heal after months of doing the wrong stuff. Then yesterday I had a really bad itch and I tried my best not to itch but I had to...I did try and itch safely with a piece of tissue and it felt amazingly satisfying but I was worried I'd caused a setback by giving into the itch. Hopefully I haven't.
