I think it could help. I know heated car seats felt good when my fissure was acute and killing me. It definitely can't hurt and is worth a try IMO.

I was sitting on a heat pad 24/7 and it helped !!!!! I had less pain sitting and I DID heal my fissure completely couple of times but unfortunately it would re-open again and again , any time my poop was not "perfect" in any way : ((( I even slept with hot-water-bottle on my butt !
BUT, I was using Nitro also as well as Nefidipine cream AND a ton of soaks *sigh - so I think that ALL of the above combined helped me heal .

Last year I bombarded my behind with heat to get my fissure to heal.Nitro, sitz bath, hot tub and heat pad.I don't know if it sped the process but it sure felt good at the time.

I know that I'm a little late but just wanted to say I sat on a heating pad 24/7 for 7 months and almost did permanent damage to my back side. My CRS freaked when she saw it and I really didn't realize that you can damage the skin permanently. So even though they are very helpful w/ fissure pain, be careful about high settings for long periods of time. I was told 20 min on lowest setting then off for 40 I believe.... My butt still has marks that are fading and I quit the heating pad 2 months ago.
