fiber supplements for IBS

Postby cherylk » 02 Aug 2008, 13:05

Guys/gals,
I know fiber supplements have been discussed here ad nauseum, and everyone is different with their fav, etc. But I did want others to know that I recently ordered the Acacia fiber supplement, and so far the results have been positive for me using it. I hope to eventually decrease the Miralax I take by using this new fiber supplement. I also ordered a new book about eating for IBS from the same website, that I am currently reading. Lastly, I know this if off topic, but I was recognized in our July monthly Autism Tissue Program report for having contacted Obama's office as well as my state senator's office about displaying ATP materials which my state senator agreed to do.

Cheryl -

Read my thread on Glutamine. I guess that stuff is great for IBS sufferers!

I'll have to look into all of this stuff. I am learning so much.

Great job Cheryl. I think autism is finally starting to get some well deserved attention.

I think the acacia fiber supplement is a great way to go, it should be far more nutritious than many others...

Here is the link for the IBS-related items if anyone is interested:

We still need more autism awareness and more people to sign up to donate their brain tissue! Sometimes I feel like my efforts are fruitless, but every now and then something positive happens which makes it all worthwhile for me.

Lecia,
Please let me know if you try the acacia. My products (books, CD's, and fiber supplement) that I ordered from the website all arrived very quickly from Seattle at my doorstep. I think I just stumbled across the website in a similar fashion to how I found this board!

Guys and gals,
I've switched to FiberMax from Metamucil (www.advancednaturals.com). It's more expensive--$20 for one 8 oz. jar. But my digestive system is worth it. I might try to order it online--it might be cheaper that way.
