How long should you take colace? Can it harm you in anyway?? Has anyone asked there Dr's or CRS? Just wondering??

I have been on and off stool softeners for almost 5 years now and I have no problem with their long term use. I don't know what the official party line for CRSs is though but I figure if it works and gets you through a painful time and helps to protect your bottom why change a routine that works for you.

a quick question? What about the long term use of Miralax and Lacolose? Is it harmful?

Colace is fine for long term use, unless there is some other underlying medical reason for not using stool softeners in general.
