I'm new and just checking things out today. Since cherylk didn't ask a question, I'll answer the same one.
Being offered what I thought was my "dream job" in 1989 and then having the joy of that actually being true and working with the best team of people EVER! And still being friends with all of them- past and present- in retirement!
What is your favorite song and why?

I just saw this thread too, and think it's good to have some distraction from all our pain!
Sooo...
It's hard to pick a favorite song! I always try to remember what I will answer if someone asks me, but I never manage to sort it out. One of my favorite songs in any case is Watershed by Indigo Girls. I love the lyrics and the harmonies.
Ok, a new question....

We used to play games on this board all of the time, which was fun. I see in this thread that I gave an answer above, but did not ask a question!
Answer--I liked the Florida beach and viewing the golf of Mexico, but I would have to say hiking in the Colorado Rockies was my fondest nature experience! Image
Question--What do you like to do in your spare time for a hobby?

Hi. I thought I would answer the above question. I love photography and spend a lot of time doing that and share it on Facebook.
And my question: where in the world did you have your best experience?

That's a hard one, because I initially thought of it as a travel question and then saw it a different way. As a travel question, I would say Prague because it was the end of the last trip we took with our now adult daughter- then in college- and the whole trip from Vienna to Hallstatt to Salzburg to Cesky Krumlov to Prague was centered in on our love of music. And we stayed in this wonderful little hotel with an Italian owner who treated you like old friends.
As a non travel question, I would pick two. Victoria, Texas because that's where I got married and Fort Collins, Colorado because that's where my daughter was born.
What was your scariest travel experience? (inspired by our good friends who left on a tour of Egypt the day before everything started going crazy over there- they are home!)

I think flying to San Fran when I was living in Seattle--quite a bit of turbulence.

Ah, my favorite mountain range is surely the Drakensberg - Dragon Mountains - the highest mountain range in Southern Africa. I remember a drive over part of them, once upon a time, where the rain was pouring down and lightening was striking the ground all around, in the pitch darkness of an African night?
How did you celebrate your 21st birthday?

Oh gee, I should probably pass on that one, since I can't really remember! Hmmm, where was I living then? I think at that point in my life, I was living in Montana, together with a couple of girl friends. That means I probably celebrated there with some cake and drinks and beautiful scenery.
What's your favorite type of literature to read (fiction, detective novels, biographies, poetry, sci-fi...etc) and why?
