could this interfere with fissure healing? I was just thinking about the rapid movement and didn't know.

I was not able to walk very fast with a fissure. It caused rubbing and friction and made it hurt worse. I guess my motto has been it if hurts, don't do it. But some people feel like some light exercise can be helpful so you will have to use your best judgement about what to do!

Yes, I agree with Lecia. It is very difficult to tell what exercise involving the legs will do to a fissure. Sometimes, when I had mine, it seemed like I could walk off the pain, but I may have been fooling myself.

Walking won't actually cause the fissure to tear more or prevent it from healing, right?

I don't really know. If the friction is enough that it irritates the fissure though I can see how it could delay healing. But you have to live your life too. If it hurts when you do it or it causes bleeding then that would be a good barometer to follow.

I think everyone is different. As long as i didn't do the splits or ride a bike, I could exercise all I wanted. Sometimes it even seemed to help stop the spasms for the day. Most of the time it did nothing to the fissure, but it always made me feel psychologically better.

I completely stopped all exercise, it made things worse for me.

my Dr said if it doesnt bother you ...keep doing it. I have been running since i got my fissure
