Hi buddies,
Thanks for wondering about me! I've been down in Gulf Shores, Alabama, (southern U.S.) for about a week with one of my sons on a golfing vacation. I have never golfed so much in my entire life in such a short period of time. I was busy preparing for the trip b/4 we left. The weather has been great. I might not have posted about my upcoming trip b/4 we left. Yes, games are good!
My favorite flowers are carnations, but roses (especially pink ones) are nice also!
What is your favorite dish to cook? Alternate question for those that don't cook--what is your favorite TV show to watch? Since I've been in absentia, I hope these questions have not recently been asked.

Glad you were out having a great time golfing Cheryl! :)
Welcome back (although you might rather be golfing...!)
Cooking - I like cooking! My favorite thing to cook/bake... I take some pride in my baklava. It's easy, but requires some patience, and people usually appreciate it a lot.
Do you have a favorite NPR program?

Actually, I've had enough of golf for awhile. There is a very fine line between enjoyment and burn out of golf.
I know about baklava! I don't really watch very much TV now, but years ago when my boys were young, they both used to watch Sesame Street and the Electric Company. The actor Morgan Freeman used to be on the Electric Company b/4 he became such a big star as he is now!!!
Have you ever tried to make Key Lime Pie or another more complicated dessert? Alternate question--have you ever met a famous athlete or other famous person?

I have met Nelson Mandela, when I lived in Denmark. So, I can say with pride that I have met a famous person.
Have you ever spoken in front of an audience, and if so, about what? Alternatively, what is your idea of a relaxing couple of hours?

I used to be long to our Caterpillar Toastmasters group and gave lots of speeches there. Also spoke at the acreditation ceremony for my son's day care provider. Reading relaxes me and oftentimes makes me fall asleep!
Do you prefer to read books or use the new electronic devices for reading (kindle, nook, etc.)?

I don't have a kindle or anything... maybe I would like an iPad some time... but I have a feeling I would still prefer reading a book with pages...
Do you celebrate a holiday that isn't traditional in the country that you're living in?

I celebrate Chinese New Year's. It's pretty traditional here in the Republic of California, but the rest of the US, maybe not so much Image
If you could relocate to any other country in the world, would you stay put where you are now or move elsewhere? If elsewhere, which country?

Well, I like Sweden, but it is a bit cold here, and a freaking longggg winter! I would move somewhere warmer, but with mountains still. Maybe Colorado...
I remember ending up in San Francisco's Chinatown on Chinese New Years, without realizing it was. Fire-crackers, dragon parade, money being thrown in the air - and good food too.
Do you have an "eccentric uncle" or aunt in the family?

No one really eccentric that I can remember, but I did have one great uncle that sold "potions" and stuff like that many years ago.
Do you have a desire to delve deeper into your family history to learn more about your ancestors?

Yes, I would like to know more about some ancestors. I know some things already, on one side of the family where there are some "famous" ancestors - but when they aren't "famous" it becomes hard to trace...
Have you seen any signs of spring lately?
