Tomatoes. Absolutely hated them until I was in my mid-twenties.
What is the most exhilarating/electrifying event/concert you have been to?

That would have to be the broadway show Wicked ( my avatar is the main character) I read the books by Gregory Maguire because I loved the wizard of oz as a child and his retelling is fantastic, it's a great story.
What was your favorite subject in school when you were young and do you use it alot in your work/ life now?

Biology and Chemistry. Hence I went to college and got an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry. Then after that, I decided I was more interested in business, so I got a graduate degree in business school.
After all that, I've been working in ... *DRUMROLL* ... computer software (programming) for the last 10+ years. So yeah ... I guess that answers the second part of the question :) :) :)
If you could pick one place to move to (other than where you are now obviously), where would it be? This assumes you'd still have to make a normal living, in other words it's a "move to live a real life" situation as opposed to "I won the lottery so I'll just retire on a private island" type of scenario Image

NG,
I always knew you were smart, but did not know about the biochem or business school!! That biochem is difficult stuff! My son majored in chem in undergrad and just graduated from pharm school. Since I merely squeaked by in college, I'll dwell on him and not me. Image But I am helping him prepare for his boards, so maybe I can take some credit for that.
I would like to live in Hawaii. I could be nicely retired there while playing golf.
Which state in the U.S. do you think has the best climate?

I have not lived in any other state than Maine, so cannot really judge, but the one that I have visited and liked most of all was Florida. Just loved it.
We are having very strong thunder storms right now(three huge trees came down last night and the electricity was off for a few hours) so my question: what do you most like to do on a hot day when it rains?

Hey EM - I think we experienced the same weather system - we've had incredible thunderstorms up here.
I love summer thunderstorms - my favourite thing to do is sit out on my balcony and watch the wind and ligthening and listen to the thunder. If the storm is to violent, then I watch it from a window. If it's just raining, I like to go out and play in the rain :)
Oh, BTW, I looked up "She came from the Karoo" - how beautiful! So now we are maudlin together (dit het my baie hartseer gemaak!)

On that theme ... what song(s) brings back your happiest memories?

Old Dolly Parton or Merle haggard songs, my parents listened to that suff when I was little, my mom always sang along... I don't listen to country music at all though but I do have some oldies on my iPod...
What was your favorite Saturday morning cartoon when you were young? ( before there were 24hr cartoon channels)

The Snorks. Loved that show! I was also a big Disney fan - anything with Mickey, Donald, Pluto, etc. was rather well received. :)
