Calendula is soothing and healing. Maybe that would help. I never have really gotten the itchies except slightly, and that is one of the things I use.

I don't know about how well this would work for itching but maybe some aloe vera or A&D ointment?

I just used talcum powder, and it really seems to help me when I had my horrible healing itch...

Aloe vera made me itch more because it healed me more.. I tried gold bond, not sure if its good to use on a fissure but it 'cooled' things down a bit.
I think the itch is a good sign.
A hot bath/soak helps me too

Jennie, see my previous post, I used Canesten cream as I am sure my fissure was caused by thrush, although it worked for me, it may not be the same with everybody, but I would suggest that if you have ever suffered with thrush before, it may also be the cause ..................worth a go
