Hello again fello painful-butt-ed people,
I got news about a week ago that is quite great (for me) and could potentially help some of you.
So as some of you might know, back in June my GP examined me and told me "that's an anal fissure, don't worry about it, bla bla bla". But as it turns out, the fissure (or fissures I think is more accurate) was but a symptom of syphilis.
I had never had syphilis before and had not expected that. To be honest, I'd thought the fissure was from an STI at the very beginning, but I believed my GP when she told me it was a standalone thing. Now after 8 days of taking doxycycline, my BM is maybe 99% back to normal. (5 more days and I'm done with this horrible horrible antibiotic)
The reason I'm posting this is because if you've tried everything to heal your fissure and haven't considered it might be an STI, you definitely want to go get tested for the lot of them, because not only you won't be able to heal the fissure otherwise, but untreated STIs can become deadly. (That and any STI will make it more likely that you catch HIV if you're in contact with it).
This summer will have taught me to eat better and to avoid certain foods if I wanna stay healthy, but I think my time here is done. Thank you very much to all those who have supported me through the tough times I lived this summer.
Good luck to all of you, you can get better and you will!
