Numbness

Postby mountainman » 13 Jan 2012, 13:47

As you guys know I've had an AF for close to 3 years now but one thing that has started happening over the past few months is that my coxis (tailbone) has been numb a lot of the time and when I squeeze my butt cheeks together the pain is there (not my bum but actual tail one)
Anyone had this as a side effect of fissures? Its funny how its just started. Not sure if its related tbh

mountainman, could it be your back? A back problem, perhaps?
If not, it could possibly be your AF. Ever since my AF flared back up, I've had weird tingling down below, plus a heaviness in the cheeks - it's really strange.
I'm wondering if I'll ever feel normal again . . .

Yes it can be from the fissure. I know when mine was at it's worst, I would get a dull ache in my left butt cheeck and it would radiate to my back and into the left side of my vagina  Sorry about being graphic but that's what happend. We overcompensate from out pain without even knowing it. One day at work, I had my butt cheecks clentched so tight and didn't even realize it until I felt the pain.

Sue - I think you're right about how our bodies overcompensate, and we don't even know it . . .
I think I've been clenching, somehow, from this fissure - and the cheeks feel tight. Like you, I haven't tried to clench the muscles - I think it's just happening.
And I can relate to the female parts being involved . . . when my fissure recurred, I also felt like I had a UTI (but I didn't). That's how bad the pain was.

yeah I know that feeling also. I am a nurse and I was checking my urine at work on a daily basis. LOL Only to be normal. Fissures really make your body go crazy.
