for women only

Postby sputnik » 19 Jan 2012, 14:24

hi, i've been having a raw feeling in vagina and and think i have a yeast infection. Right now might have a retear. Should i just go ahead and use the canastan. Will it leak to anal area and irratate fissure. I know the periods always leakthere. If it leaks there will it make fissure worse. Have any of you used this while your fissure was active. Ive feeling like this for 4 days. Seeing dr. tomorrow and iknow he will just prescribe me the canastan. also i'll be having periods, now i know it will defineltly leak there with the period. Please some advice

Hi, sputnik -
So, sooo sorry you're having to deal with vaginal issues, in addition to the AF.
I'm in the U.S., so I've never heard of canastan. Here, for a yeast infection, I've used Monistat -- the Monistat 7, which would be used daily, inserted every night for a week -- and that's always cleared things up. It's OTC here - and because it's inserted, it wouldn't do too much leaking to the backside - but if it did, I don't know how it would affect a fissure.
Unfortunately, as women know, things from the front always seem to leak to the back - there's no way to avoid that, usually. Just try your best to carefully keep things clean, while you get through all of this.
Sending you a {{HUG}} -- it's no fun having such a double-whammy.

Sorry Sputnik for the double whammy. The canastan should be fine to use. Who knows it may even help with the itiching of the AF. I always have used a 1 day treatment and have had to while my fissure was painful, it did not affect my fissure though. No buring or irritation

yes i am going tonight. I'm thinking i got this from soaking everyday and maybe not drying there properly. I'll update tomorrow on my dr.'s visit.

I don't think it is from not drying. It is just all the soaks throw the PH off in the vagina and with being in the tub it is just a breeding ground for candida albicans

For me, only the 7-day Monistat works.
