How to tell what a retear is?

Postby Bella Paradise » 05 Feb 2012, 18:54

Bah. Usually when I get a re-tear, I bleed a lot. Its pretty obvious when it tears. But does it always bleed when it tears? Nowadays, I've been getting some pain sometimes when I go, but there seems to be no sign of blood. So am I still retearing? I sure as crap hope I'm not, cause I'm on my super soft liquid food diet now and going on my last resorts over here

Fissures don't always bleed when they re-tear, so bleeding isn't really the best way to tell. On the other hand the pain you are having doesn't necessarily mean a re-tear either, but could be an indicator of irritation you are having of a fissure that is still trying to heal. Do you have a doctor visit planned soon so you can get checked out?

Ah, okey. I've been to a doctor for the first time, 2 weeks ago. Gave me the 0.2% nitrowhatever cream it is to use, directed me to Miralax and told me to take these particular probiotic pills. So far I am honest to god not sure if any of these are working. I just glug down TONS of water all day and steer away from solids and cross my fingers, haha...

Well, I'm still slightly confused... I took my first .... uh... do we call it "BM" on here? I took my first BM on my liquid diet and it was the softest thing eveeer! But I clenched and felt some pain for a second. Afterwards there was blood, and it looked like the fissure on the inside may have been bleeding. Although I'm not totally sure. I have NOOOO idea how such a soft poop could make it re-tear. I am driving myself crazy figuring out whether or not I am retearing...

Sometimes to keep it together you have to leave it alone(apologies to Don Henley). I obsessed terribly about every little thing.Ask yourself this question. What can you do about it if you do retear?Do what you need to do everyday and that is all you can do. Leave it alone or go crazy.I also had to quit acting like a sick person because it made me feel like I was sick. I had to get out in the fresh air and breathe deep. I had held my breath for months. I think I have a retear. I have to go to work. I have to move on. Does it hurt. Like a B**ch. I do my sitz, meds diet and softeners and that is all I can do. I so hope you can find your way out of your worry hole. It made such a big difference to me.

Of course the best advice would be to see your CRS, as they will be able to determine whether you've retorn or not. If you've been going through this for a while now, maybe it's time to look at a different course.
I went through this for twelve weeks last year, and so far it has been a couple of months on this go around, which has been much worse. Thankfully, my specialist said it's time to cut bait, and I'm scheduled for LIS on the 27th.
Good luck.
