i read that putting a bit of manuka honey on the anal fissure twice a day can kill off the bacteria that may stop fissure healing,i saw it on a website dr.ben kim (natural therapies) there is quite a bit on there worth at least a read,it has to have a high factor to it, i believe to help,i have some new zealand manuka honey,mgo30+ so i think as it is natural and won't do any harm i may give it a go!!if anyone decides to try it ,make sure you just decant some out into something else,you certainly don't want cross contamination!!! i'm going to eat a teaspoon a day orally as well

hi tanya,might as well try the manuka honey as it feels like i have been stung by a bee up there!!!

I've used manuka honey on my fissures... Just be warned that for most people it does sting at first, for some people it is pretty intense stinging. It usually subsides in about 15 minutes. I also have a product called Medihoney, which is actually pharmaceutical grade and sterilized so it's specifically made for chronic wound healing. Another product I am loving right now is Bee Magic, which has honey, beeswax, olive oil, bee propolis, and royal jelly. Good luck with your honey experiment!
