I'm not sure where it's coming from but I remember him saying he was gonna cauterize the fissure, weather he did or not I don't know yet. On a good note things are feeling like they are back to normal, or as close to that at this stage. I'll be back to work on Monday as I am feeling way better

Just had to update this. I'm 2 weeks post-op and finally after 2 years I'm pretty sure I am HEALED!!!!! My fissure was from childbirth and what was so frustrating is that my diet has always been fine (30gms of fiber per day on average without trying or adding supplements, 1 gal water/day - and this was pre-fissure as well). Stool softeners and added fiber for me just made it worse. Anyway I'm still using cream on the site (Polysporin actually - weird I know but over time I found this helps me more than PrepH) and doing 2 sitz baths a day just to keep it clean but will probably stop at the end of the week. Fingers crossed that after 2 surgeries (& 2 beautiful fissure-aggravating babies) that I am fixed for good! I'm only 27 and was scared I'd be stuck like this for life.

That is so awesome PP!
I did polysporin the last time my fissure opened and healed. Hmmmmm.
Did your crs recommend it?

I forgot to ask, was your fissure at the front or back end?
If I were you I wouldn't change anything for a couple months or more, they say that it takes the skin a year to get to 80% of it's original strength and elasticity.
Please let me know what your crs thinks of the polysporin.
I'm so glad for you!!! :D

Hi PP
Can i ask were both your deliveries normal ones? My CRS has advised me not to have a LIS because i had a Forceps delivery 14 years ago, I'm at a higher risk of permanent incontinence. Hope you don't mind me asking.
Thank you
Zoe
