I am now 3 months and 6 days post-sphincterotomy. Healing went fine. The only issue I have been dealing with is itching, although the ointment my Dr. gave me has been helping as of late. However, I have a new problem- pain and hardness at the incision site, plus a foul-smelling odor. I believe I may be having a clear discharge from the area as well. Thoughts? Thank you so much.

A foul-odor could be an indication of a local infection. i would inquire about that with your doctor.

I'd be worried about infection too. How long as it been since you've seen your crs?

Just to be careful you should consult ur doc! I'm 6 weeks past LIS and i've noticed the incision site a little hard with minor occasional itching. But i had my follow up just a couple of days back and my doc wasnt concerned. The foul smelling odor is a concern which is why you should just check it out. It could simply be sweat from inside trickling out. The sweat sometimes smells funny on the gauze pad if thats what u checked.
