Ordered a few things..

Postby pgre » 02 Mar 2012, 22:09

Well after about 10 days of no pain /blood during a BM, I tore again today. It is so frustrating.
I've been to 2 different GP's , none of them knew anything abt Nitro/diltiazem. So hoping for a miracle cure I ordered Wheat Germ Oil, Mg tablets and Dr. Christophers bone and tissure ointment. Hopefully something will work.
Good luck to everyone else on this forum....It will get better .

Hey pgre,
was just looking up the ingredients of the dr. christopher ointment. Sounds very antibacterial and antifungal.
I'll be interested to hear if you like it.
I've been using coconut for 3 days now, and can't say as I've noticed any difference. I still use the lanolin as I think it is more effective as a protective barrier. on the other hand, I haven't gotten worse, despite stopping the nifedipine... touch wood and whistle! :)
You should really be seeing a CRS not a GP. GPs are jacks of all trades and masters of none. Granted there are a few out there that are golden. But I have never had the pleasure of being a patient of one of those.
Good luck to you too pgre!

Hope wheatgerm oil did nothing for me, in fact of all that I've tried the only thing that has vaguely helped has been vaseline and Sitz baths. I am now waiting for my 18 and 20 mm dilators to arrive, though how brave I will be when I get them is another question.
Good luck pgre!

Thanks for the reply.
My GP was going to give me a referral to a Gastro dr. but I declined because I didn't want a scope. Very stupid of me. I'm thinking about going to urgent care and asking for nitro/diltiazem. Do you think they will give it to me?
Also I read about Dr. Christophers ointment here http://www.boardsailor.com/jack/af/patient_23.htm
hopefully it works.
Savaici,
I'd be afriad to try AD too, but good luck to you. Tell us how it goes.

The first GP i saw referred me to a GI. The GI didn't even see me, but referred me on to a general surgeon. But then my referral got lost and I had to find a new Gp... ANyways, I don't think a GI would have been the one to see.
If you can, see a CRS. I've read of people getting those prescriptions from their GPs. Perhaps you could ask for one, until your CRS appointment comes through...?

My Gp said i couldn't use Diltiazem since I'm breastfeeding. I don't think she knew it's available as an ointment also. I'm thinking of printing something abt diltiazem from the internet so I can just show it to her and make it easier for myself.

pgre,
It gets into your bloodstream even when you are only using it as an ointment.
I had to stop the nifedipine because it was making my periods really heavy.
Hmmm, is nitro bad for breastfeeding??

Hi Tanya,
I was wondering how many magnesium capsules you take and when? I just received mine today and the bottle says to take 2 daily.
Thanks

Hi pgre,
I take 125mg, but i used to take 250mg, without a problem. I'm about 140 lb.
I don't really notice the 125, but the 250 I would definitely feel a release of some tension.
I just take it as insurance.

My GP prescribed me Diltiazem ointment even though I'm breastfeeding. He didn't mention any problems/ risks with it.
Also @ pgre: I totally know the frustration! Even though I'm keeping to my diet, and everything was going well for more than a week (no pain/blood) it happens all over again! This has happened twice. What did I miss? I haven't changed anything! So disappointing.
I say a Hail Mary when I poo.
