Hi Jan,
I'm in Canada myself, but this lady is in the UK and had tag removal.
Read her posts, I believe she said that it isn't normally covered in itself, but some surgeons will do it as part of other procedures.
http://anal-fissure.org/t4432-i-want-to-cry#70390If you click on her name and then click on 'posts' you will see all that she had written. Or you could PM her and ask her questions directly. Most people here are glad to help when they can.
I had a sentinel tag from a fissure removed over a year ago and I do wonder if the scar tissue left behind isn't what is making my current AF so hard to heal. Just a word of warning. But I understand that several of these little buggers would be pretty hard to live with.
I know what you mean by aged! I am 43 but feel a good 15 years older. Especially with all the restrictions. My hair has gone completely grey in the last year.
I made an appointment to see a TCM specialist at the beginning of next month. Supposedly they can make tags shrivel up to nothing. I'll see what they say.
I would suggest you be the squeaky wheel and keep calling your doc once a week to see if you can fill a cancellation spot. Usually calling on a Thursdays is best.
Do you still have a fissure? Most docs won't remove the skin tag of an active fissure as it can interfere with healing. But some docs believe the opposite. Who knows?
Anyways, welcome to the forum, but sorry you are here!
