Does anyone here have any experience using Proctofoam? My CRS prescribed it to me for my fissures/hemmies. I used it last year when it was prescribed by my GP, and it seemed only to work in the short term. This time, my CRS wants me to use it for six weeks. Isn't that too long to be applying a hydrocortisone to that area? Has anyone had success with it?

Hi there,
I didn't have any success with it and was told to throw it out by my CRS after being prescribed at the hospital. It actually caused things to get worse for me and burned!!!
I agree 6 weeks is to long for any hydrocortisone. The back of preperation H says no longer than 2 weeks. One of my CRS told me to throw it all out , that it can actually cause the skin to ulcerate...

Hi
I used proctofoam for at least that long, when I thought what I had was a hemmie and my GP thought so too.
It didn't help at all.
