Good Luck! The best decision I ever made was finally having the surgery! It will be two years in October of this year. I've never regretted it, just wish I would have done it sooner. :)

WOW, had my op and yes iam uncomftable but it was like instant releif, no more razoer blades in my butt, had my first BM this morning was a bit scared but didnt hurt no where as bad as it did when the fissure was there, its is amazing. i highly recomend anyone who has doubts to go and have it done :).
i had to have a skin cancer cut out of my chest at the same time and that hurts way more then my butt.
iam feeling happy now knowing iam going to have my life back very soon.
so if your in doubt dont be best thing i did :)

Hi Harro and a big congratulations to you Image
It's awesome to know you're already feeling relief...I'm really, really soo happy for you Image
Please be sure to rest as much as you can the first few days...I know you're probably real anxious to just get up and go, but remember you are healing this incision, and you don't want to jeopardize that in any way. Image
Way to go Harro, cheers to your successful recovery Image

Good luck to you Harro, that's great to hear. I found this forum a few days ago and after reading everyone elses stories was finally courageous enough, after 12 years of af hell, to book my lateral anal sphinctorotomy (sp?) for next Friday. Fingers crossed.

Hi Harro,
Congratulations!! Glad to hear you are better. I am scheduled for my surgery in a week. Did you get LIS? or Fissurectomy? I am getting anal fissurectomy and a bit scared. I want this pain and misery to go away. How are you doing with your diets? Metamucil gives me stomach cramps all day long so, I went back on Colace and started eating some prunes with 80 oz of water daily. Hope your healing continues and keep us posted. :)
