I was wondering if anyone here may have heard of a hemorrhoid resulting in a little hole right near the edge of the anus?
I went to my doctor yesterday to see about a small blister(bled during wiping) and he simply said that it was a hemmorhoid. He didnt check but that kind of relieved me and I was satisfied. Afterward, I went to exercise and when finished I came home and saw some blood in my shorts. I showered and had a look and noticed a small hole (1mm) and it bled off and on that evening. No real pain, just slight sting.
This morning I went back to the dr.s and he had a look. He said that it was just a hole from my hemmorhoid and that it is no problem. I asked if it would go away or continue to bleed and he said it could do either but that it wasnt a problem. I asked if it was an anal fistula as thats what I thought it might be from my own net research. He said, 'no, it isnt'. He could see I was worried still and asked me if I wanted a surgeon to have a look and he could cut it out if I liked. I said I would like to see the surgeon and just ask him about suggestions(his opinion).
Anyways, I just came home and searched the net for 'hemmorids causing a hole' and I couldnt find anything.
Have any of you heard of this or does it seem like my doctor could be mistaken?

My immediate reaction to this was definately get a second opinion and by a CRS too. Since dealing with my issues, I had 2 GP's wrongly diagnose my fistula as a pilonidol cyst/ sinus and another who said she could see no sign of a fistula.....Guess what? Yes, the CRS diagnosed it immediately as a superficial fistula and I had it "deroofed" straight away! I know a GP does a great job most of the time but they are not specialists in the anal area!...
I am not an expert but I never heard of a haemmoroid that causes a "hole" - It's my belief that they are always there but most of the time they shrink, are barely visible and you don't notice them. They are only an issue when thrombosed and chronic and then need treating....It sounds more like a little abscess/ spot that popped???
Really don't know.... but would advise you get a second opinion and please keep us updated. Really curious to find out what it is! & hoping it's nothing too nasty at all... :)

Thanks and I will update this right to finish, Ever. Its been bleeding on and off all day. Not much but still quite uncomfortable.
Have searched all day and only found 1 senior poster mention that he has heard of hemorrhoids that have left a hole but that its rare.(a hematoma hemorrhoid?). The hole almost looks like the end of a vein found in animal meat so I wonder if thats a similar thing here. A fistula sounds like it might be more complicated so I am kinda hoping that it is what my doctor suspects.

Did the hemorrhoid burst open? That is the only thing I can think of that would cause a hole. But I don't blame you, I would want to be sure.

Nothing bursted that I noticed but I was exercising pretty hard and sweating and just noticed some blood in my shorts when I got home from exercise. Not too much, just noticable.
Actully tho, sorry, I guess it must've broken(if it was a hemm) as the lump is somewhat smaller now and seems more like a lump of skin, beside the hole. I have to move the skin to see the hole. And the hole is right at the base of my skin, not on a skin flap or hemm or anything. No puss or water yet either, not that its necessary for a fistula, but just blood as far as I can tell.
