Scheduled my FISTULA SURGERY! - Anxiety to the max!

Postby owieher » 09 Aug 2012, 17:20

I've schedule my fistula surgery as I feel this is the only way to correct my re-opening wound. It feels like I understand the pain to come afterwards, but the whole process of waiting till surgery day is creating a lot of anxiety.

When is your surgery ???
Wishing you super successful results and super fast healing Image Image Image Image Image Image Image
Fistulas almost never heal on their own and they can become even deeper with time, so yes- you made very good decision !!!
Do not fret about pain since everybody is different, for many it is really smooth sailing afterwards and perhaps you will be that person too Image

I just got back from my surgery. I guess, I can't help but to feel uncertain about the procedure, or should I have more faith? LOL
The whole prep process and checking in was very nerve-wrecking for me. The anxiety of getting an IV, seeing people getting in and helped fuel my worries. As I headed into the operation room, they told me to lay on my side, and at that point, I could already feel some numbing medicine in me and 'boom' I was out.
As they say, you wake up in the recovery room, and that's what I remember. I have pain medicine, and was told to check up in a week. Doctor said to just keep the area clean and let it heal. He said, some stitching was required though.
Thanks to the team here.
