Calmoseptine

Postby Tim » 13 Dec 2011, 09:05

Just wanted to let folks know that this is an OTC product in the states and available (at the pharmacy) in most stores. It's really a glorified barrier cream with menthol added in. Helps to reduce burning, itch, sting etc. all while providing a cool feeling. Menthol has actually been shown to increase vaso-dialation which increases blood flow. I started using it last week and like it a lot. Hope this helps!

WOW!! the menthol doesn't burn?? Well, if it works for you use it!! I have never heard of it though and wish I did when all my troubles first started 3 years ago. Happy healing!!

For me it gives a nice cooling "aah" sensation rather than
a burny feel most of the time. I like it and think it has helped with general post surgery irritation. I'd I take a nice salt bath , dry off, and the put Calmoseptine on , I am usually better the next AM. I did not have this when I had my active fissure, so I don't know ifnitnwould have helped...
