Some background:
I developed a fissure about a year ago. It seemed to stop bleeding on its own and "close" up after I tried nitro and aloe. But...something developed behind it on the OTHER SIDE of the anal wall. No idea what this is though some here have suggested it is the body's way of protecting the wall behind it.. So, went to get a colonoscopy done (non-xray). Didn't see anything. Doctor told me (even after I said I had this LONG TUBULE PAINFUL THING in my ass for a year) that, and I kid you not, he thought I simply had a "pain in the ass" and it will get better on its own.
Um...hello? It has been a YEAR! My body has had PLENTY of time to fix this problem yet this snake like structure (which is very painful!) is still there.
No bleeding.
Pain mostly on days when I have a BM. What happens is, this long tubular structure that sits like a frickin SNAKE on the inside and protruding near the opening gets "pile driven" down on days when I have a BM. The muscles I have to use force it down. On days when I don't have a BM, it seems more retracted, thus less pain.
Maybe it is abscessed by now? Or a fistula? How do I tell? Isn't that HIS job? I am at my wit's end trying to figure out what to do. The colonoscopy showed nothing that I saw on the monitor, and he didn't seem to know if it needed to be "drained" or not. How do you drain something that requires a surgical cut? I sure can't do it myself, yet it feels bulgy, and I sometimes wonder if this structure is filled with pus or bacteria.
And to wit, he said it wasn't what I suggested...a sentinel pile, because he didn't see that on the monitor.
I am beyond livid.
How much does a surgery to repair this cost? I live in Canada and am seriously considering going to the US to get this done since three doctors have blown me off!
Is suicide my only option?
