Thanks, Rich. When do you think I should start to see the wound 'hole' actually start to cover up with skin? I am currently on the fourth day after the Tuesday surgery.

Soon 'th skin goes through different stages of healing
The white exidate is one stage,the wound should heal from the bottom up '
Mine has healed OK so far externaly''when he done an internal on the 4 Jan he could feel the groove of the fistulotomy op'h said I was OK but the internal part will take longer to heal
It basically turned the fistula tract into a clean fissure

How long did your external part take to heal?

Mine was in about 3 weeks '
I stiill see a nurse now and then to check
It over
She said it looked like a paper cut going into my anus ,
On my op they basicaly'cut along my Seton they had put in after my abscess '

Right now, I basically have this goopey milky liquid that seems to be trying to cover my wound area. Does not smell bad. Any ideas what it is and if I should try to wash it off?

I think my wound has become sloughy (described above). It basically looks like snot (from a nose) is covering the wound. Anybody else experience this with fistulotomy healing?
