My CRS wants to examine me under anaesthetic to "find out exactly what's going on down there". My fissure doesn't hurt that much when he's examining me normally, it's more of an ache throughout the day that I get. Has anyone else had this done? And does anyone know what sort of things he is looking for??

I have not had this done but maybe he wants to see how deep and far back it goes, without causing you too much discomfort? And maybe to rule out other things such as haemorrhoids ?

I had this done in November. The CRS had already diagnoised me with a fissure but because it was too painful to examine me further booked me in to have an EUA.
I think it's also to check if anything else may be causing a problem.
Surgeon confirmed a fissure when I came round but it wasn't until my follow up appt with the CRS that I also discovered I have some sort of internal prolapse so currently undergoing more tests for them.
