Fissurectomy complete!

Postby Mamalucia » 31 Jan 2013, 11:35

Fissurectomy complete!! Feel great so far but I'm still fully numb down there. Hopefully when I'm no longer numb the pain is tolerable!

Glad that the surgery is all over for you, Mamalucia. Now the only way is up! Hope you got some help from the info on here. Just make sure that you 'baby' yourself in the healing time.

Can't believe how minimum my pain is!! Feeling great but refusing to over do it since there is still some numbness in the area!! I'd refer my dr to anyone in my area!!!

Hi Mamalucia! :) So glad to hear that you are doing well. My surgery is scheduled for Monday. I'm not sure if I am having a fissurectomy or not. I guess I need to call my surgeon to find out exactly what they are going to do to me! I was a little out of it on painkillers when I saw him this past Monday. Duh!

Yea I have no clue what my dr did lol! I never saw him afterwards so he could explain it but I was dreading the surgery because I had watched a couple videos of the procedure that I found online. I don't have any sutures though so I don't think my surgery was as invasive as the videos...and i'm more than ok with that lol!! Best of luck with your surgery and keep us all posted!!!

Oh wow! I couldn't watch a video- yikes Image
I'm just praying that pain after surgery won't be the aweful 24/7 pain that I am experiencing right now. It just seems to get worse every day. I hope that they give me something on the day of surgery while I'm waiting with the IV in my arm. Morphine please! Image

I'm not sure which procedure u r getting but with mine they put me out then did the fissurectomy and when I woke up I was completely numb in that area ...that was yesterday morning and I still have quite a bit of numbness now about 24hrs later. Hopefully it's the same for you and pain is completely tolerable!

Oh that would be awesome to have some relief for a day or so! It would be heaven verses this hell! It baffles me how difficult this pain can be, and it's just something that you have to endure. I asked my GP if she could give me a shot of morphine, but she said that they didn't have anything like that on hand. I asked my surgeon's nurse what would happen if I freaked out and went to the ER and she said they would probably just refer me to a surgeon! One of the entries in this forum is "Can I die from this?" Funny, but not really- this pain is REAL and I wonder if it is possible to have a heart attack from the stress. Oh well, if I died, then that would be a cure for the pain! Image
