Hey there,
I would stay on the Miralax for a few months or longer. It takes about 6-8 weeks to heal a fissure even with surgery. It takes much longer for that area not to be vulnerable to re-tears. I took Miralax for a couple of years and had no side effects.

hi vxnova
as long as you will have anal spasm the fissure will keep coming back. anal muscles pulled up while pulling they do not cause pain they cause pain when they pulled up. it will take a while when these will heal spasm go away and do not let the contipation comes back.

I read in a medical article just recently that it takes about 3 mths to heal and 2 years for the skin to reach it's "normal" strength again.
I have the same problem every time I try to stop the miralax. I'm going to give it at least 3 months, probably more, this time.
