lis and fistulotomy

Postby richibeno » 08 Mar 2013, 07:10

Hi guys
IV been through most things 'fissure'. Botox 'Abscess. 'Fistula with seton and then fistultomy
The pain with fissure and abscess were crazy bad '
Question is I'm still getting a dull ache now and then some times after a bm ,when you have a lis the cut a piece of the internal sphincter, when I had my last op the fistulotomy went through some internal sphincter and a couple of external sphincter fibres
The op went well and I was told in Feb it had healed well'
So would a fistulotomy do a similar job like a lis taking the pressure off the sphinncter muscles,
He said I had a couple of small internal hems that may blead now and then but its the aching that is making me wonder what it is
I was on some antibiotics last week for a tooth problem and I had the odd not so soft stool so I winder if I my have stretched things or may be a agrivated the scar tissue or even a hem hope its not a tear
Am seeing my crs later
Here's to great healing
Health an happiness

Hi Rich,
Can't answer that query only to say that after all my issues too, pretty much the same as you, but no fissurectomy and a more superficial fistula involving no sphincter interaction, I also tend to have a dull ache too after BM's and the odd twinges, feeling of pressure etc....It's driving me a bit potty although NOT complaining really as I am so much better generally. I just can't understand why this is happening too. I was diagnosed with internal piles too at my last EUA, which might be attributing to some of those symptoms, but I'm a bit reluctant to deal with them right now because of everything I've already been through. They tell me they can be banded easily enough but can't face more anal stuff right now. One day I would like to feel 100% normal again so may have to consider the option....I know that even after slight straining, the ache for me feels worse, so I really try not to do that at all (but habit eh? easier said than done)
I don't know! -my fissure is almost healed but maybe you do continue to "feel" stuff for months after....maybe it never goes back to being 100% normal.
Would be great to hear from someone who actually does feel like they never went through any of this stuff, even though they did, and says that their bottom feels completely normal again!!
All the best Rich. Keep healing!
Chronic Fissure diagnosed December 2011
Healed by Diltiazem around Feb 2013
Anal Fistula followed burst abscess in June 2012
2 internal troublesome piles remain & suspected, but undiagnosed, ongoing Levator Ani type symptoms & flare-ups
