Itching prickly feeling from Diltiazem ?

Postby Rachael 1984 » 13 Mar 2013, 14:40

Hey everyone!! Any body had a weird itching, prickly feeling from Dilt?
The Dilt seems to ease the pain and the spams, the last few days have been more manageable... Still in pain, but not on the scale it was last week. But there is a lot of itching and prickly feeling.
Is this healing or reaction to Dilt? Anybody had this???
God my head is exploding right now. Image

So bad that I had blistering after three days and had to quit a week after that, yesterday, as I mentioned in a recent post. Now Im back to my last bit of nitro again and getting headaches, which I didn't have before.

Hi unfortunately this is very common with diltiazem, more so than nifedipine and nitro. I know I used it for 2 days before I quit. If I need to I use nitro. I'm lucky my doctor gave me the full strength tube and I mix my own to the strength that works best for me without headaches. I usually mix it with aquaphor. If your nitro is giving you a headache take a small amount and add some vaseline or aquaphor to lower the dose and see if it helps.

Nitro did the same to me, I endure the discomfort because it did ease my spams but after 4 months I developed a rash and blistered.
Too bad because it was the only thing that took care of the spams.

Thanks for the replies, I think because I have used so much, everything is irritating me now. Should I stop use of all creams and let it settle? I am a bit red as well in the area.
Only problem is, it is stopping some of the pain. X
