My fistulotomy story

Postby kris73 » 01 Apr 2013, 16:48

Hello all,
Had fistula for 5 years. Finally got time and guts to goto surgery on Mar26th 13. My Dr also said he will also fix my Hemorrhoids while he is doing Fistulotomy. Hemorrhoids never caused me any problem but he suggested goot to fix it to avoid long term problems. Overall pain is not that bad but hell lot of pain after BM. Pain sticks around for 5 to 10 mins and goes away. I use gauge and cotton to hold of leakage and bleeding. its been bad for last six days in terms of bleeding and leakage. Hopefully things get better:).Hope u all do too.

it went thru both internal and external spinchter. Before the op i took alternative medicine treatment(ayurvedic) similar to Cutting Seton treatment for 8 months and it did not heal completely. but i came to USA couple months back and went to CRS to get the OP done. Its 7th day since op and making slow progress. I have stomach cramps since 2 days all the time and feel like going to BM . Also I have noticed some fecal matter leaking thru incision since yesterday. I talked to CRS and they said its OK and it will get better. Hopefully it does. How is your recovery Rich.

Hey.
I had a fissure. Had botox for the fissure.anal glance got blocked and infected.and abscess formed.I had abscess drained and cleaned .then 2 months later had the fistulotomy to remove fistula tract .it had gone through internal sphincter.and a couple of external sphincter strands.
Went well said it was higher than first thought.but within the OK boundaries
I still get some aches now and some discomfort . today I even got some new Sachs and pains I was just driving a car .hope its nothing .but I am a worrier
