Anusol Hc

Postby Now66 » 20 Apr 2013, 12:09

Anyone ever use this product, Ansol HT, a hydrocortisone cream? Cortisone creams are often good for wounds. I was wondering if this might be helpful for fissures.

I did and am using it, yes. It will help if inflammation is hindering healing, and for me, with my Sentinel Pile. It will also take out any hemorrhoids. It will not affect spasms, however, or get more blood flow to the area to help it heal quicker.

It will also thin the skin in the area, which is not a good thing, if used for too long.
I believe it will reduce inflammation but it did nothing for me.

My naturopath had me use steroid cream on my fissure for two weeks. Yeah, it doesn't help blood flow or pain, but was supposed to help the inflamed tissue itself. My feeling was it helped, but you can only use it for max of two weeks. Also, you need to get it onto the fissure, which may be up inside a little bit. Mine is up behind the sentinel pile. No longer shy about applying ointment up the butt. Best of luck!

Yes, I am using it at the moment. It has really helped when my hems have flared up.
You can only use it for a week or so at a time though, as Sav said, it thins the skin with prolonged use.
If you are finding relief from it... Give it a go.
