I had fissures off and on for 15+ years and I never got an infection from the stool.

I asked my crs that question and he said no you won't get an infection. I'm sure it's not good to have poop entering your blood stream through an open wound though.

I did get infected after bloody stools a couple of times. It took me a while to relate the fever I was getting to bloody stools. It only manifested through fever about 38.5 that would slowly go down, but lasted for 2-3 days. I had no local symptoms, just fever. Took some antibiotics and it went away.

LIS but he told me that it is really the last ultimate choice and they dont like doin it cause of the possible problems 5. kryo cure, they practicly burn your fissure aout like a wrat and it should grown new skin i of course choose the new treatment pills and creams they told me they had after the two months very good results , but i want ask you guys 2-3 mm is a big fissure or you have bigger?anyone take pills with calcium blockaters (no cream) with nitro cream ?like always thank you all for beign here and helpin me Image

Diltiazem is a Calcium Channel Blocker, and most often used for high blood pressure - I take this.
Here is a link for a randomized trial of oral (by mouth) vs topical (cream) Diltiazem and comparison to nitro.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11535842
I think a 3mm fissure is quite small, but for its size the pain can be immense, and we all know that... Image
Hope the link is of some help.

Hi to everybody, after almost a months of pain , im really desperate and in pain, the specialist in hospital told me that if the fissure is reopening that is a small chance to heal forever , he practicly told me that im gonna live this issue for the rest of my life and even after surgery if i got a dihrea or hard stool the problem can start again, so after he told me this that im gonna be in pain and got troubles for the rest of my life i decide to at least to enjoy the life in 27 years old, so i start smoking weed after 5 years and must say its helpin me a lot and finally i can smile and enjoy this fu...d up life, if you cant like me stand it try smoke some weed guys its really helpfull for me , i hope i m not gonna be banned for this post but really guys im so desperate and after this for life statment im totally deprressed and i need to cheer up , alcohol make this problem worst, cigaretts too and drugs are out of question so the only think what remain is weed

That 'specialist' is an idiot who doesn't know what he is talking about. Yes there is a chance it will come back even after surgery, but if you had LIS it will heal again in short time like in a normal person. Rather than trust one person, do some reading here instead and get info from the sufferes instead.
P.S. Maybe smoking weed promotes healing. Are you having less spasms?
- Fissure developed in Jan '13
- Started rectogesic in Feb '13 and diltiazem Apr '13.
- Got botox Jun '13
- Healed by Okt '13, although I still had some irritation for about a year.
- New fissure April '22, healed June 2022
- New fissure 24. December 2023

Don't go that path man. I think it just numbs your brain, masking your pain. Don't know much about this stuff, I only had some space cakes (cookie with weed basically) twice in my life in Amsterdam and other then getting high, what I remember is that I was dehydrated like hell the next day. I don't think it does any good in your situation.
There is hope, I was like you a few weeks ago and with a proper routine I'm now able to exist at least. Won't start preaching about diet, baths, etc, you can read what worked for me under Diaries.
You were about to do manual dilation, what happened with that?
