I eat it. By the spoonful. The last lot I tried using on my bum, but did nothing for me. The taste is just amazing, however!

I am going to get some manuka honey (to eat) for after my surgery. I'm thinking it will help with healing.
I will certainly consider that one... Thanks!
Xx

Check this out, I recently spoke to my trusted Pharmacist..shes so nice and a vast of information. When you need some one to talk about these issues or any health concern, almost any time of the day or night, a knowledgeable and understanding Pharmacist is key, especially when we can"t always get in touch with our Doctors or specialist. Now she said that you can use the regular Manuka Honey for sores and of course take internally, but for some the active Manuka is more potent and is a medical grade,(external only) But she said it can sting, if your sensitive then try the lesser one. I have the food grade Manuka Honey premium, pure, not not interested in using externally, Just a teaspoon in my green tea every morning, yum and good for the digestive track.Oh yes very import..She stated don"t put your Manuka Honey in steeping hot tea, because it will sterilize it, you don"t want that.
ACTIVE MANUKA HONEY..must have on the front label, MGO or UMF plus a number .
Regular Manukah honey can be used as a dressing for sores and to heal, but it's not potent enough and therefore lacks the stronger qualities for healing.
Manuka honey: Advocates say it treats wound infections and other conditions.
This honey has natural antibacterial qualities and protects against damage caused by bacteria.
It also stimulates production of special cells that can repair tissue damaged by infection. In addition, honey has an anti-inflammatory action that can quickly reduce pain and inflammation once it is applied.
Components of Manuka Honey
Hydrogen peroxide is a component of honey. It gives most honey its antibiotic quality. But some types of honey, including manuka honey, also have other components with antibacterial qualities.
The major antibacterial component in manuka honey is methylglyoxal (MG). MG is a compound found in most types of honey, but usually only in small quantities.
In manuka honey, MG comes from the conversion of another compound -- dihydroxyacetone -- that is found in high concentration in the nectar of manuka flowers.
MG is thought to give manuka honey its antibacterial power. The higher the concentration of MG, the stronger the antibiotic effect.I purchased my Manuka at a health store. 250g/8.750z, small but I only use half a teaspoon, I find it very rich. $20.00 dollars Canadian, The owner of the health food and store, gave me a $5.00 dollar discount because I shop there enough..lol.
I hope every one is having a easy and relaxed weekend..take care all.Image
