Semi-healed fissure=constant anal and abdominal discomfort?

Postby Pamplemousse » 05 Jul 2013, 12:24

Sometimes my fissure “improves” enough that I no longer get pain and bleeding with a BM, but I can still feel that it’s there. I feel a lot of discomfort in the anal area and always feel aware of that part of my body. Also, when it gets like this, I start to feel a corresponding pulling sensation in my abdomen, right behind the navel. It’s almost a relief for me when the fissure opens again because at least then I no longer experience the constant pulling feelings, which are not painful exactly, but annoyingly uncomfortable. I’m not sure I’ve explained this too well, but does anyone have a similar experience? Any ideas what this is?

I get that all the time because as a child I had a double hernia, and repaired, in my lower abdominal area, but please check it out with your Doctor, I find with my scar tissue, and after a soft bowel movement, or even a slight spasm, I get these waves of pulling around my floor, pelvic area, kinda residual pulling, like pings that trail down my butt cheeks, I know it's more annoying then the spasm like intense pain.
Please keep on checking in,every one is so helpful here, and eventually some one will nail your question in the butt..Image

I know how you feel. I don't get the pulling feeling you're talking about but I also have constant discomfort downt there and I'm constantly aware of that area and it's driving me nuts. I haven't had any bleeding or actual pain in months. I almost wish the fissure would just retear completely so I could go and have another surgery or something...

Thank you so much for the replies. I'm guessing it's just scar tissue though I'm not sure why that would cause discomfort further up. I'm so sick of all of this!

I forgot to ask you, that pulling could be Diverticulitis, I have it and I, contacted my G.P ,regarding that same sensation you get. Have you had a test to find out..My Diverticulitis is mild, was worse when I was a child, But has calmed down now.

I don't think I have been specifically tested for that though recently had an ultrasound scan and also a blood test to detect inflammation. Would either of those pick it up? I have told my doctor about the discomfort but he doesn't seem too concerned... Image
Thank you for responding.

Yes I'm pretty sure the scan could detect it, I had a colonoscopy, ask him any how, I'm sure your fine, we all get different pains here.
